my yoke is easy and my burden is light

Matthew 11: Rest for the Weary
25At that time Jesus said, "I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and learned, and revealed them to little children. 26Yes, Father, for this was your good pleasure.
27"All things have been committed to me by my Father. No one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal him.
28"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30For my yoke is easy and my burden is light."
Notes: I have found this to be a truth for when I was out off all my options, destroyed from a lifestyle of Drugs and dying. I called out to Jesus and he rescued me, and His yoke is easy. It is much easier to follow what is right, then to follow the is wrong in the long run. 13 years ago my life was forever changed by Jesus, as He took me in my life has been one reward after another. Marriage to a loving wife, cars, home, great job. I was in hell for 14 years of drugs and following my own desires. My prayer is simple and that is for God to use me and be in control of my life to twice of what I wasted. So if I am allowed by Him to reach out to others on His behave for another 15 yrs then I will be greatly rewarded. And the weary and weakness of my wasted years will be taken back in my mind at least.

I did not come to bring peace, but a sword.

Matthew 10
34"Do not suppose that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I did not come to bring peace, but a sword. 35 For I have come to turn " 'a man against his father, a daughter against her mother, a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law - 36a man's enemies will be the members of his own household.'[e]
37"Anyone who loves his father or mother more than me is not worthy of me; anyone who loves his son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me; 38and anyone who does not take his cross and follow me is not worthy of me. 39Whoever finds his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life for my sake will find it.
40"He who receives you receives me, and he who receives me receives the one who sent me. 41Anyone who receives a prophet because he is a prophet will receive a prophet's reward, and anyone who receives a righteous man because he is a righteous man will receive a righteous man's reward. 42And if anyone gives even a cup of cold water to one of these little ones because he is my disciple, I tell you the truth, he will certainly not lose his reward."
Notes from Nobody:
I have read this over and over again, quoting whoever shale lose his life for my sake will find it. But I have found something new to think about. 34 Do not suppose that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I am pretty sure that I have seen all of this stuff happed while serving at Church. And in my own life, with other family members that are Christians but the Church itself is more important to them the relationship with Jesus the Christ. They follow blindly hiding there eyes to what the Bible says is wrong because there Church accepts it. To quote my Pastor “right now you can call me a Baptist, but the second being a Baptist takes me away from the truth of the Bible and way from a relationship with Christ then I will be something else because following Jesus and the truth are more important that any Church.

MAKE DISCIPLES OF ALL NATIONS

Matthew 28:16
16Then the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go. 17When they saw him, they worshiped him; but some doubted. 18Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."
Okay most of us are familiar with this scripture verse but really if we are honest with ourselves how many of us are doing this? How many of us are living this kind of life. There is more to it than just going to church. More to it than just knowing the scriptures. More to it than preaching at church! I have been listening to the Holy Spirit and what Jesus is saying to us all right now and it is simple.
MAKE DISCIPLES OF ALL NATIONS!
Revelation 2:1
1"To the angel of the church in Ephesus write: These are the words of him who holds the seven stars in his right hand and walks among the seven golden lampstands: 2I know your deeds, your hard work and your perseverance. I know that you cannot tolerate wicked men, that you have tested those who claim to be apostles but are not, and have found them false. 3You have persevered and have endured hardships for my name, and have not grown weary. 4Yet I hold this against you: You have forsaken your first love. 5Remember the height from which you have fallen! Repent and do the things you did at first. If you do not repent, I will come to you and remove your lampstand from its place. 6But you have this in your favor: You hate the practices of the Nicolaitans, which I also hate. 7He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes, I will give the right to eat from the tree of life, which is in the paradise of God.
Okay here is what I get out of this “You have forsaken your first love”. I can remember when I first really gave my life to Christ. Everyone I meant knew about it and knew what He did for me. I could not help but to talk about Jesus and who He is and how much He loves us. I was like a little kid in the candy store that was promised I could have anything I wanted. I was on cloud nine per say.
I think the Holy Spirit is telling us, that unless we get back to that first love status, and start really making disciples of all nations we are in big trouble. Especially as a country. Look at the miss USA pageant Ms Californian is being hammered just for stating that she believed marriage should be between and man and a women. What would have happened if she would have said anything about Jesus? What kind of Nation is this that we can no longer speak the Truth? What has happened is that we have fallen asleep.
Revelation 3:1
1"To the angel of the church in Sardis write: These are the words of him who holds the seven spirits of God and the seven stars. I know your deeds; you have a reputation of being alive, but you are dead. 2Wake up! Strengthen what remains and is about to die, for I have not found your deeds complete in the sight of my God. 3Remember, therefore, what you have received and heard; obey it, and repent. But if you do not wake up, I will come like a thief, and you will not know at what time I will come to you. 4Yet you have a few people in Sardis who have not soiled their clothes. They will walk with me, dressed in white, for they are worthy. 5He who overcomes will, like them, be dressed in white. I will never blot out his name from the book of life, but will acknowledge his name before my Father and his angels. 6He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.
Lets wake up as a Nation as Christians and get back to just telling people about Jesus and stop worrying about what the world thinks. It does not edify the Church or God for us to set around and simply complain as our Nation our Christian Nation slips away because we can’t motivate ourselves to share our Lord with others.
Heavenly Father we hear you and we ask you to bless us with the right word to bring our nation into a discipleship with you. We ask you to hide us from the enemy as we share with others about you and to water the seeds and make them grow and for us to help you however you need us to. Form Man to women, from Son to sister, from Neighbor to co-worker, from shopper to door person. Allow us to share your Word of Truth to everyone we meet.
AMEN.

What do you need to be healed for?

What do you need to be healed for?
Many of us walk through each week taking on the world and really taking the world in. For instance TV, I am more and more convinced the modern day TV/Cable programs are killing our society. I believe we should take on the world by prayer, living the examples of Christ Jesus and loving others. If we spend more time watching TV programs than prayer and loving others than we will be taking in the world and all its crap that says everything is cool and acceptable, nothing is bad and all is good. Not true for us as Christians.
So my question for us is what do we need to be healed from every week? Any why do we need to attend Church weekly?
For me it is the TV/Cable programs I watch and could possibly slowly accept. Like the show called saving grace. Sounded like a cool name and has an angel that appears to the lady named grace. Sounds good right? Wong!!! Show is packed full of sexually immoral crap. I am taking this show off of my TiVo and refusing to watch it. And plan to contact the programming director complaining of the issues I have with this show. As Christians we should do more than just refuse to watch, “I believe.”
I am not going to throw out scriptures just simply ask you to examine yourselves and see what it is each week that boggles you down with worldly crap. Take a look at the things you do and ask you, “What do I need to be healed from?”
Take one thing each week and ask God to heal you from that. He will reward you for this I just know it. Paul requested us to do this before we take the elements of the body and blood of Christ examines yourselves and ask for forgiveness before you receive. I think this will improve our walk with God if we take the time to do this weekly instead of once a month.
Thanks,
“Lord please heal us all from our weakness and our daily intake of worldly things that hinders us and please keep us in step with you and where you want us to be. Amen”

Wake up and forgive.

Matthew 18
21Then Peter came to Jesus and asked, "Lord, how many times shall I forgive my brother when he sins against me? Up to seven times?"
22Jesus answered, "I tell you, not seven times, but seventy-seven times.[f]
23"Therefore, the kingdom of heaven is like a king who wanted to settle accounts with his servants. 24As he began the settlement, a man who owed him ten thousand talents[g] was brought to him. 25Since he was not able to pay, the master ordered that he and his wife and his children and all that he had be sold to repay the debt.
26"The servant fell on his knees before him. 'Be patient with me,' he begged, 'and I will pay back everything.' 27The servant's master took pity on him, canceled the debt and let him go.
28"But when that servant went out, he found one of his fellow servants who owed him a hundred denarii.[h] He grabbed him and began to choke him. 'Pay back what you owe me!' he demanded.
29"His fellow servant fell to his knees and begged him, 'Be patient with me, and I will pay you back.'
30"But he refused. Instead, he went off and had the man thrown into prison until he could pay the debt. 31When the other servants saw what had happened, they were greatly distressed and went and told their master everything that had happened.
32"Then the master called the servant in. 'You wicked servant,' he said, 'I canceled all that debt of yours because you begged me to. 33Shouldn't you have had mercy on your fellow servant just as I had on you?' 34In anger his master turned him over to the jailers to be tortured, until he should pay back all he owed.
35"This is how my heavenly Father will treat each of you unless you forgive your brother from your heart."

I woke up this morning agree at a man that I had trusted that had failed me, lied to me and my family, stole from me, and damaged my home. I was angry that my own cousin had this man as a friend on her face book page. On my way to work I was praying and talking to God and suddenly this passage spoke to my heart. Instantly I began to speak out forgiving this person, although I am still agree, and will most likely never trust this person again. I can’t help but wonder if I have really forgiven him. I hope that I can. When I ask Jesus to forgive me of so much more than anything this guy did to me, Jesus did without beating me up and asking me to return anything.
This is a wakeup call! Please even though someone wronged you. Forgive them. For me nothing anyone else can do to me could compare to just how much God forgave me for. I heard so many say I forgive them but can’t forget, I think that if we don’t really let it go and forget about it, we very well possibly have not forgiven them from our heart. That is what is commanded of us. From our hearts not our minds, or just from our mouth. How can we love someone if we are constantly reminded of how they wronged us? Love and forgiveness go hand in hand.
Forgive, Forget, Trust & Love, these are the things that come with really forgiving from the heart.
Lord I forgive all, will forget all, will trust & love again.
Thank you Jesus!

Man vs. Jesus

When I look at Jesus and compare Him to myself I do not see just a just perfect man that never sinned. If I did all that I would see is this: Romans 3:23 (NIV) 23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, So when I focus on Jesus
(Hebrews 12:2 Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.)
I see a the man that not only knew the Word of God, not only used it when speaking to others
In Mathew 4:6 The Devil is speaking to Jesus : “if you are the Son of God," he said, "throw yourself down. For it is written: “‘He will command his angels concerning you, and they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.' Jesus answered him, "It is also written: 'Do not put the Lord your God to the test.”),
He lived up to the Word of God. This is the example that I want to receive from Jesus to live the word of God, not just hearing but doing.

Looking into man these scriptures come to mind:
Proverbs 19:3a men own folly ruins his life, yet his heart rages against the LORD.
Proverbs 19:21Many are the plans in a man's heart, but it is the LORD's purpose that prevails
Proverbs 18:12Before his downfall a man's heart is proud, but humility comes before honor.
Ecclesiastes 9:3This is the evil in everything that happens under the sun: The same destiny overtakes all. The hearts of men, moreover, are full of evil and there is madness in their hearts while they live, and afterward they join the dead.
Okay here’s the deal, I think that our problem as men & women is that our design because of what happened in the garden is that our hearts are always evil. We must choose to overcome this evil. There are many times in my life that I think of something, sometimes many things not so much now but in the past that are so evil. I think our issues are simple we think the devil made me do it. Or that must have been an attack of the devil when in the reality of it is, that our heart wanted that to happen. Our hearts are evil who can trust it. Once we realize that the problem is not an attack from the enemy but something internal with us, we do a system check and realize that we need to do something, to get rid of this problem with our hearts. Once we stop fixing our eyes on man and on Jesus then these heart issues seem to go away. We should pray continually about this for ourselves and our brothers that are fighting the same things we are. We must forgive all men.
I think if we are not being peace makers in everything we do then we are not accomplishing the things in this life that Jesus meant for us to have. We are not receiving the joy that God wants for us to receive.
Proverbs 12:20there is deceit in the hearts of those who plot evil, but joy for those who promote peace.
Matthew 5:9blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called sons of God.
Psalm 34:14Turn from evil and do good; seek peace and pursue it.
Luke 10:5"When you enter a house, first say, 'Peace to this house.Luke 10:6if a man of peace is there, your peace will rest on him; if not, it will return to you.
2 Corinthians 1:2Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
May Gods grace love and mercy rest on you always and I pray that we all become peace makers in all things great and small. Lets the Word of God live inside you and become life and may it bless you and bring you much Joy as it does for me, when I live the Word of God.
Amen

Spirit versus Flesh

I have often pondered on the scripture verse that says something about worshiping in Spirit and truth. And I have often thought that especially while in Church I would be worshiping in the Spirit. However most of the time lately I have been distracted my Spirit cries out Holly Holly is the Lord to be praised honored and adored, but my flesh is saying hope I get out in time for the game, race, or whatever! There is a constant battle between our Spirit and our flesh. However I can remember at one time I couldn’t wait to go to church, and my Spirit cried out to the Lord and was not distracted by my own flesh. I believe that was when I was constantly consumed with reading the Bible and praying. I think what I am getting at and what God wants me to understand is that my relationship with Him is not where it was before. I need to do a system check on myself. Maybe I should drop one hour of watching boob tube at night and study the bible and pray for that hour. Maybe I should get back into getting up early on Saturday before anyone else got up so I can take the time out to read a book in the Bible like I use to.
Once we start off going down this road of flesh desires, and it doesn’t have to be sexual, it can just be self satisfying. Once we start paying more attention to these things of the flesh we get tripped up, off track, with our personal relationship with Jesus Christ. I urge you brothers and sisters to run this self check next time you are in Church and see if you are crying out to Jesus or thinking about what you are going to eat when you get out, or what you need to pick-up at the grocery store. Spirit or flesh, what will it be? Let us continue to make good choices in our lives not bad? Let’s get back on that track and continue to pray and study the bible and really worship Him in the Spirit and Truth.
I believe when Paul said be all things to all people he, didn’t mean for us to use drugs with the dope attick, or drink with the acholholic? I think he meant for us to share our lives with them and provide the love of Christ that only comes from heaven. I believe we can love someone into the arms of Christ Jesus. I know for sure that we can run people away from Jesus that is the easy part. The hard part is loving each other. Just be careful to not conform to their ways and bring your down. Some leaders think that they have reached a point in their lives that they are above all that and develop a lifestyle that leads men always from God instead of too God. I’m not talking about while they are in the pulpit or at the Church, I mean in their leadership meetings and away from the Church. None of us are above a personal relationship with God; do stop doing the things you did at first when you feel in love with God. How can we love your brother and accuse him and the same time? How can we love our sister if we want/covet something that she has?
Love your neighbor as you love yourself? Pray read your Bible and keep that relationship with Jesus intact. I am going to take one hour out each night for the next few weeks and pray and read the bible rather than stare at the tube, and see if there is a difference when I am at church. Let’s try this together!

What do I believe and why?

What do I believe and why? I believe that Jesus Christ is the son of God, Sent by God to pay for our sins by death on the cross. He has risen to heaven. And I know that this was God’s plan since before the creation of all.
I believe that as Christians we should meet together once a week to worship God and give thanks and build relationships with those that believe as you do. I know it’s been a while since I have posted anything and my apologies. I’ve been busy working a new position that God gave me by the way. I have been praying for this job for 10 years or so. Now that He got me to job I have a lot of studying and a lot to live up to. Came at the most perfect time in my life. Gods plan is so perfect wait on Him, bible says He has a plan for you and that is bless you and give you the desires of your heart.
Just a reminder to you and me from the Holy Spirit this week, be sure that you are storing your treasures in heaven. With the economy in the dumps we may get confused with Gods plan and what He may be wanting to do with us. Watch out for this and be careful.
Also be mindful of your family, your wife especially in these days make sure they know that you love them and it is God that protects us, not the government, but Jesus. Things may get though make sure they know where your heart is, remember at least for me the little things are the best of things. Time you spend with God in prayer and the time you spend with your family.
Also I believe that we are to go out and make disciples of the world preach the Gospel and deliver the Truth to all. Let’s do more of that, in these times we all need something real to depend on. God is real; Jesus is real, and someone that you can give your life to. Not money or the stock market. Don’t worry about these things. Give you self to Jesus and pass Him on to everyone you meet. None of us are meant to be pew setters.
